Flying3D X6 6 Axis 2.4G GPS RC Quadcopter Ready To Fly
23-10-2014: More good news today, SeBy DocKy is working on attaching a Gimbal and Mobius to the X6 we will keep you updated on the progress. I for one can’t wait🙂
23-10-2014: Great News Banggood now have spare parts available for the X6 (see bottom of this post)
22-10-2014: EXCELLENT REVIEW FROM SeBy DocKy on RC GROUPS CLICK THIS LINK
17-10-2014: Got a bit cocky flying this yesterday and managed to drop it from 20 feet! Only broke two props and the landing skid. Lucky I have some spare gemfan 3 leaf props and some super glue fixed the landing skid. I going to fly some more today can’t get enough of this model. Looks and flies great without landing skids but you obviously need to ensure a gentle take off and soft landing ,not recommended unless you have a good stock of props.
16-10-2014: Third flight today slinging it around like it was a Walkera Ladybird! Very responsive good Yaw rate and fast flyer. Wind has got up a bit but no worries. I must have forgotten how much fun it is flying these Quadcopters. I’ve moved from the apprehensive phase to the addictive phase. The good news is that Banggood will be stocking parts for this model. The stock battery is a very tight fit which is great for balance but it is difficulty to find others that fit. As it only comes with one set of propellers ensure your get some spares you can find a selection on the X6 sales page click this link. Hopefully spare batteries will soon be available. I tapped a Turnigy 1000mAh to my X6 and although not ideal it gave me some more flying time. If you haven’t got a decent balance charger for your batteries then get one. The iMAX B6-AC B6AC Lipo NiMH 3S RC Battery Balance Charger was recommended and I have one on the way.
16-10-2014: Tested return to home functionality and intelligent landing worked perfectly. For the GPS to work effectively ensure you have a connection to at least 9 satellites. What I do like about the X6 is that it feels very solid and I can fly it in a strong breeze without any worries unlike lightweight models of this size.
16-10-2014: Did some flying today there is a slight wind but that didn’t seem to worry the X6 it was still super stable. The altitude function works a treat and it just hovers as it should. The AOC (Headless mode worked well). The more I fly theX6 the more I like it. Mine has the Gemfan 5030 triple blade propellers but I think the orders sent will have standard props which should make it more efficient. Flying 3D are working hard on a camera and FPV module for this model and I’m sure if you strap a Mobius on it will capture decent footage. SeBy DocKy who posted an excellent review of the FX8 on RC Groups has an X6 on the way and I’m 100% sure he will deliver an excellent review of this model. I will post a link here as soon as it is up. I will try and get a few more flights in later today.
15-10-2104: Sorry for the delays in updating but due to a number of unforeseen circumstances I have been unable to fly this model . I have now received some spare props and will get it flying very soon. Banggood are now offering a choice of Transmitter for this model and I would suggest you go for the TX with the On Screen Display.
11-9-2014: Got this baby up in the air today before I was supposed to be leaving for UK (flight now cancelled). There was a wind blowing but it handled it very well, super stable and super fast.
10-9-2014: Received this morning will assemble and test later if wind subsides🙂 Having a few issues calibrating the compass. I’m away tomorrow and will update Monday.
9-9-2014: IMPORTANT UPDATE. AS FAR AS I CAN ASCERTAIN THE VERSION THAT WILL BE SOLD BY BANGGOOD DOES NOT HAVE THE ON SCREEN DISPLAY. I HAVE EMAILED BG FOR CLARIFICATION. MY FX6 IS THE UK AND I WILL HOPEFULLY RECEIVE IT TOMORROW.
PLEASE NOTE: FLYING3D ARE LOOKING FOR WORLDWIDE DISTRIBUTORS OF THIS MODEL SO IF YOU ARE INTERESTED PLEASE MAIL ME email@example.com and I will forward your details.
If you are looking to move up from Hobby grade Quadcopters then this could be the perfect RC Quadcopter for you. I am very fortunate to be one of the first to receive the X6 RC Quadcopter and as soon as I do I will publish a full detailed review. The drone industry has been crying out for a model of this size, a fast nimble flyer with FPV capabilities and I’m sure the X6 won’t disappoint. At a recent expo in China this model received some great reviews. The Camera and FPV module are in production and my review will concern the flying capabilities and build.
