It has been along time coming but Hubsan have at last released a small little Micro Racing Drone the Storm H122D X4.

Hubsan have for many years dominated the small micro drone space with their H107 Micro Quadcopters some of the finest Micro drones ever made and still fabulous fun to fly. I’m a bit of a Hubsan Fan Boy myself and not afraid to admit it and one stage I had a great collection of many of their models and flew them on a regular basis. I still fly a number of Hubsan models and their H501S is one of my go to drones. I am very surprised that Hubsan are late to the party with their offering of a coreless motor small FPV Racing Drone as many manufactures especially Eachine have constantly brought out many similar models over the last few years. That being said I welcome this latest Hubsan Storm Drone H122D X4 model and hope to test it extensively overtime.

The Hubsan H122D Micro Racing Drone is constructed using a Carbon Fibre Frame, the flight weight including the 2S 710 mAh lipo battery is 116.5 grams and it measures approximately 3.7 inches square. The Lipo battery when fully charged will give the user between 6-8 minutes flying time with a control range of 100 metres (plus or minus 10 metres). To fully charge the battery will take over a couple of hours so to prolong you enjoyment and flying time extra batteries are a must. As with most Hubsan models I’m sure spare batteries for the Hubsan H122D Micro Racing Drone will be available.

The Hubsan Storm H122D X4 FPV Micro Racing Drone will come fitted with a 720P camera that will relay FPV video feed via 5.8G and the Drone itself will be controlled via a 2.4GHz Transmission signal. It will be powered by High Efficiency coreless motors and capable of 360 flips and rolls.

The Hubsan Storm H122D X4 FPV Racing Drone’s Remote control is an HT015 Bluetooth TX that is compatible with Fatshark FPV Goggles. At this stage I’m unsure as to whether it will connect to other makes of FPV goggles but will contact Hubsan for clarification. There is also a dedicated FPV screen (Hubsan HS001) and a set of Hubsan HV002 Goggles. There will be a downloadable Wifi App you can use to get the video feed and it is possible to use this App for Waypoint settings, altitude settings, orbiting mode, one key take off and to enable video and photograph capture.

To record video and capture photography you will need a class 4 micro SD card and the Hubsan H122D Micro Racing Drone will support up to 32gb cards.

There is a low battery failsafe feature built in so if the The Hubsan Storm H122D X4 FPV Racing Drone senses it is running out of power then it will automatically return to the take off point.
