DJI Tello Drone from Ryze
This new cheap $99 DJI Drone produced for start up drone company Ryze with help from DJI and Intel is set to rock the Drone space. The Tello will be programmable using the superb MIT’s Scratch drag and drop coding tool and this DJI Tello Drone from Ryze is packed with features and uses DJI’s flight control board and an Intel 14-core processor. The Low-priced Tello Drone will have auto take off and landing, loss of signal failsafe, low battery protection and a built-in vision positioning system. The 720P, 5MP camera will also have an electronic stabilisation system (EIS) which I believe is a first for a low-priced under $100 Drone.
The Ryze DJI Tello Drone should be available by the end of March 2018. There is a lot of buzz going around about this Tello Micro Drone a first from DJI that uses coreless motors (All DJI Drones have previously come with brushless motors).
Will DJI capture a large share of the low-priced drone market with the Tello Drone?
It seems like DJI are not just interested in dominating the aerial photography drone space but have indicated with this latest DJI Tello Drone that they want to gain a big slice of the lucrative low-priced drone market. I think this is something DJI are very capable of doing. Their technology has be far ahead of the competition and this is the first time it will be tested on a low-priced drone model. I am not sure at this stage of DJI’s involvement with this new drone start up Ryze. I would think that they either have a large stake in the venture or that Ryze is a sub-division of DJI.
“Perform flying stunts, shoot quick videos with EZ Shots, and learn about drones with coding education. Get yourself a Tello to find out just how awesome flying a drone can be!”
RyzeRobotics is a Shenzhen based start-up that was established in 2017. They believe that play is a really important part of the learning process and have integrated the Tello Drone with the outstanding Scratch coding programming tool from MIT to allow people of all ages to learn basic coding skills and have fun controlling the Tello Drone. The Tello will also support smartphone virtual reality headsets for those who wish to experience the thrill of FPV (First person view) flying.
The Ryze Tello Drone from DJI comes with coreless motors and you can just throw in the air to fly it. The Low-priced Ryze DJI Tello Drone also has flexible propellers and a collision detection system making it one of the safest low-priced drones ever produced. Many of the current producers of cheap under $100 Drones like Syma and Hubsan are going to struggle to compete with this latest Drone from DJI. The Cheap DJI Tello Drone will also be FPV Compatible so you can enjoy the experience of FPV flying with this Micro Drone.
More than just a Toy the Ryze DJI Tello Drone
“The idea of making play an essential part of learning and putting this concept into a drone makes the DJI Tello more than just a toy. It’s an opportunity for kids and young engineers to discover the ingenuity and science behind aerial technology. Once they learn how it works, they will be able to do great things with it. We’re excited to see the Tello come to life and congratulate Ryze for their accomplishment,” said Paul Xu, DJI’s Vice President

I’ve used the Scratch programming tool from MIT to teach coding skills to primary school children and it is just fantastic. The groundbreaking Ryze DJI Tello Drone will be a perfect tool to help youngsters get an understanding of UAV’s and flight patterns. I can see many schools adopting the Tello and using it as part of their teaching programme.
The Low-priced DJI Tello Drone will be flown using an App and there will be the option to fly the Tello using remote control transmitters. The Tello camera with electronic image stabilisation (EIS) will shoot 5MP photos and record 720P videos.
I can’t wait for this DJI Tello Micro Drone to be released it will be a great play and learn tool and will truly capture the imagination of drone flyers throughout the globe.
The DJI Ryze Tello Drone is being featured at CES 2018 the big tech show in Las Vegas. There are also a number of other prominent drone producers showing new models at the CES show, Yuneec have a new version of their ‘H’ Drone, a fixed wing and racer, there is a second version of the AirSelfie drone and GDU will finally announce the release of their O2 foldable drone. All the drone talk from CES seems to be about the DJI Tello.
